Not long ago, armed with a cheap combo set and a sense of adventure, I decided to go fishing with kids. As a parent with little fishing experience, I found myself navigating uncharted waters. However, as they say, “fake it till you make it.”

Threading sinkers and tying hooks may seem daunting at first, but with a bit of practice, it becomes manageable. After a few attempts, I cast the line, handed the rod to my son, and waited for the inevitable boredom. To my surprise, within seconds, he shouted, “Fish on Dad!”

Plus, the thrill of catching a 25cm fish ignited my son’s passion for fishing in Myrtle Beach. However, as parents with limited experience, my wife and I faced a steep learning curve.
